– Always read the label first before choosing a brand. It shouldn’t contain any flavoring agents, corn, or GMOs.
– Don’t neglect regular visits to the vet, even if your furry friends hate you for it! This is the only way to prevent diseases and catch any sort of problems before they get too serious.
– Unless you have a fenced-in yard that’s regularly treated to kill any parasites, your pets shouldn’t have open access to the street.
– Vets do recommend spaying and neutering your animals because it actually helps them live long and happy lives.
– Start brushing their teeth at an early age so that they get used to the process. They make special toothbrushes and pastes for animals that you can get at any pet store.
– Bathing is a necessity when it comes to pets. Cats, of course, are a little more self-sufficient when it comes to staying clean, so they don’t really need to be washed.
– All vets agree that giving your pet “people food” is a terrible idea. Your pet’s digestive system simply can’t handle most of the stuff we humans eat.
– Pets need socialization and human interaction to develop physically, emotionally, and socially. Otherwise they can become easily scared, aggressive, and disobedient.
– So be sure to check if their collar is too tight from time to time. For cats and small breed dogs, you should be able to slip one finger between their collar and skin.
– Dogs of all ages and breeds should have enough time outside to move around, interact with other dogs, and be free to explore.
– Don’t keep parakeets locked up in their cage constantly. Birds need physical activity and some kind of entertainment. They’re social creatures and need at least 30 minutes a day of games and communication.
– A very important thing you should keep in mind when buying a guinea pig is that it needs plenty of room to move around. A cage that’s too small will detrimentally affect the quality of life and health of your piggie!

Actually, it’s really hard to take my dog to the vet…

my vet got my dog sick because they put a vaccine into my dog that he was ALLERGIC TO and the KNEW he was allergic to it…. they gave it to him anyway, he got BIG red rashes on his back.

When we took him to the vet last year is the first time he ever fought us. He literally tried to run when we took him out of the back, but he had a limp so he didn’t get very far. When we got into the vet, his tail went in between his legs and he was all stiff. When we tried to take him in, he literally jumped onto the leash and tried ripping it! We finally got him in and at first the vet did not want to shave a square of his lower back, she said he might have gotten into a fight with other dogs, and that he probably just had a weak leg, but then my mom said she needed to see his back (she was a managing nurse at the hospital near by us). The vet shaved a 2×2 inch square on his back, and that’s when we saw the rashes… it was not just a little rash, But it was a HUGE RASH.

The vet claimed that the source of this was not from the vaccines but from an infected wound that he might have gotten at the dog hotel. (we took him to a pet hotel because we went on vacation for a week) my mom didn’t believe her so after we came home, she grabbed shears and started shearing his back. the rash was not only in the 2×2 inch space the vet cut, but on HALF of his back!

We have never gone to this vet again, and yeah… you can see why.

My family was thinking of getting a dog. (we already had one so we wanted another,) We didn’t know what breed or gender, etc, to get.
Then my dad’s friend, he has three dogs. One of them is an adorable pug, another is a hyper chihuahua, and there was one more we didn’t know about at the time. You know why? They kept her cooped up in a cage all day. (Eating and going 1/2 were exceptions.) She was lonely and she always looked upset. Her name was Chloe. She was a beautiful tan dog that was only one years old. We asked my dad’s friend if we can have her. He said he and his wife didn’t care and they’ll give her to us for free. We were so happy that she can get out of that disgusting household, and come to ours where she wouldn’t be cooped up all day. We still brought her cage that they used home, and she still goes in it to rest. I always try to convince her to lay on the couch or whatever though. She’s turning 5 years old in 12 days. She’s been having a much better life with her new family.
