Haha mystery animal looks to me a coyote with mange do it a favor with a bullet to the dome, I shoot them all the time best thing to do with a coyote with mange..
Well its clear this is a puppy dog. I had one just like this for 16 years and 7 months and this dog will make the most wonderful pet for the lady that found him.
For all you who speculate this is a Chupacabra….. there is no such thing. National Geographic has a great online article on "chupacabras" and states they are merely COYOTES with MANGE. You can still dress up like a chupacabra for Halloween if you wish and tell tales around the campfires.
It’s a Coyote with a severe case of mange. It’s likely very sick too. I see them here in south Florida all the time with very little fur on them. It’s not a chuppacadra….the heads on chups are slightly different. I’ve seen those here in Florida also, and they’re nasty….vicious. I’d you see a Chuppacadra just shoot it. They carry diseases and other illnesses. After you shoot it….use rubber gloves to move it to a burn pit and burn it….then cover the burn pit with lots of dirt.
Maybe the "lab canine" was realeased to retrieve the "lab monkeys", got caught… For a week… Then " escaped. Ummm, maybe its a new thing to Pennsylvania but I’ve known dogcoyote mixes. Met them in real life.

Coyote..probably with mange. Poor fella was probably soo happy to get out of the cold. Animals can sense when someone is trying to help even wild animals. I have a friend who lives out in the sticks who raises a coyote with his dogs. Very friendly little girl but boy does she get vocal when music comes on, lol!
I am going to guess some kind of young dog/wolf hybrid, having some previous familiarity with humans very possible — given the behaviors it displays. A DNA test will solve the mystery, and that should be forthcoming before too long. I will be looking for it.
Definitely not a chupacabra…. ;P LOL. Could be a coyote/wolf hybrid as well — and again also with some prior ‘good’ familiarity with humans — or maybe just young enough, and smart enough, to understand it is getting a good deal here lately, as compared to where it was and how it was.
At any rate, after all this human contact and attention, if it is a ‘wild’ animal, or is supposed to be a wild animal, I don’t think it can be released back into the wild. If it is a wild animal, I hope that they will provide a really good sanctuary/natural type setting, large enclosure, for it to live out it’s days with an or some appropriate friends/pack/companion animal(s).
I live in the country in Colorado and see coyotes every day. We throw out food to the coyotes. I have a COYDOG rescue that no one wanted. This is definitely a coyote with mange. Look at the size, the ears, and the eyes. Hopefully we will get a follow-up report.
