How To Crate Train Your Human

How To Crate Train Your Human

Crate training is ALWAYS wrong, no matter who’s in the crate. People who often cage their dog may try to argue, “But my dog loves his crate!” – but that’s a bunch of hooey. There’s no dog on Earth who “loves” to be locked inside a cage. Learn more about crating and the right way to housetrain your dog at http://peta.org/crate.

Dogs seem to have become a bit like a fashion accessory;for goodness sake why on earth would a dog enjoy being locked in a cage ???

  4. Smyset111 on July 22, 2022 at 9:49 pm

We used to have dog crates but never used them until we got guinea pigs, then the crates quickly became piggie enclosures (with a liner and a lot of bedding, of course!) for our two pigs.

I have dogs all my life.and would never ever put one in a cage.the only time my animals r ever in a cage is when they have to stay at a vet hospital. Other then that never .I know people who go out for hours and the dog is held prisoner in a cage.these people dont even take them out for a walk before there r caged up.no dog should be stuff in a cage for hours.the owner should be cage up in a tiny cage with hardly any room to move in.see how they like it .and if you cage your dog because it is destroying your home or is hyper.its your fault not the dogs.when dogs dont get enough exercise they become hyper and destructive. Alot of dogs need more then just a walk on a leash.they need a place they can run free or play with other dogs.like a dog park.or go running with you dog.

crates aren’t just used for training, it can be used for transportation or as a sleeping area/safe with the doors unlocked and a blanket over it. Or as a medical tool to prevent dogs from injuring themselves more by running everywhere

  9. dking2004 on July 22, 2022 at 9:58 pm

Sadly, my dog goes inside a crate when he knows it’s bed time… *So cruel*

  10. Moon on July 22, 2022 at 9:58 pm

My dogs kinda destroy the house if left alone

  11. john doe on July 22, 2022 at 9:58 pm

I’ve had dogs for 52 years. Never used a crate. I train them! If I get stuck and can’t make it home for 14 hours….that "accident" is my fault.

  12. Lauren on July 22, 2022 at 9:58 pm

you don’t lock the crate during crate training most of the time. Have they gone stupid?

  13. Justify on July 22, 2022 at 9:59 pm

You guys really don’t know how dogs work do you? Crates are like dens, they provide a safe space. Yes, some dogs don’t like crates and never will, but most dogs don’t mind and actually go in their crate if they are scared.

  14. Jesse Nixon on July 22, 2022 at 9:59 pm

My old dog was never put in a crate and had 24/7 access to the backyard too.

Crates are fine for dogs as long as they are not in for any longer than 4 hours a day and the crate is appropriately sized

  20. Ferns Don’t Bloom Under a Full Moon on July 22, 2022 at 10:03 pm

With my dog we don’t even have a crate for her she just has her little coner with her toys and bed it’s not blocked up

  21. Bored Flavor on July 22, 2022 at 10:03 pm

Instead, use baby gates to block off any areas you do not want your pet to go into.

  22. Middle child on July 22, 2022 at 10:07 pm

I think crates are really misunderstood their not prisons,if you dont make them prisons but their a safe place for your dog. Like a room for your child

  23. Forestshade on July 22, 2022 at 10:07 pm

Crates fine… without locks… its not a ‘safe and cozy place’ when locked, its torture.

  24. Paul Germon on July 22, 2022 at 10:08 pm

When my i first got my puppy we kept her in a big pen with the door open at all times for her to get in and out the pen

Why do you think everyone put their pet in crate?

  26. RORY BRISTOL-HART on July 22, 2022 at 10:09 pm

    You stupid people

  27. ZZZ on July 22, 2022 at 10:10 pm

Crate training is okay but dont lock them in there!

  28. Kim Nenninger on July 22, 2022 at 10:11 pm

This video is absolutely necessary. I have known lots of people who kept their dogs like this. It is a miserable way of life. They did this because they didn’t want to take the time to teach the dog how to behave in a house.

  30. Plum Sparkles on July 22, 2022 at 10:17 pm

I agree! Throw away the crats!

  31. Globinboopin on July 22, 2022 at 10:20 pm

Bruh there totally safe if used correctly there meant for at least my dog as a small time out area , and place where he feels safe, it doesn’t want to deal with playing with the kids.

Should be done to PETA activists…

  33. Gigachad No. 69 (dope memes. or not?) on July 22, 2022 at 10:26 pm

thats why i dont use crates. instead, i hired a nanny for my dog. she take cares of him whenever im off. he has a dog house as well.

  34. Daniel Burton on July 22, 2022 at 10:27 pm

This isn’t about crate training. Leaving your dog at home all day is the problem. Because either way they’ll be peeing on the floor and bored to death. We use a crate, because our puppy needs a place where he can sleep for a decent amount of time without being distracted by noises and smells and people. But we also take him out for walks and do training with him and all sorts of other things to stimulate his mind.

My dog lives his crate we leave the door open and he sleeps in it everyday ❤

I thought this was going to be a fetish video, and now I’m still convinced it is.

  37. Stephanie Guei on July 22, 2022 at 10:32 pm

I never understood the crate thing. Would anyone like to be locked in their closet for >8 hours?

  38. Tall Privilege on July 22, 2022 at 10:33 pm

Where did you get the suit Max wears? Asking for a friend.

  39. K O on July 22, 2022 at 10:33 pm

Crates are for dogs that A: like it, and B only to be in there for a short time like 20 to 30 mins. I used crates to potty train dogs only putting them in there very short periods of time when I am busy. The crate will have a blanket over it and right next to me. Maximum 30 mins. Crates are goid for cars to prevent your dog from flying out of the car in a car accident. That is the only time they should be used for more thwn 30 min.

  40. Spontaneous on July 22, 2022 at 10:34 pm

Anyone that ‘crate trains’ their dog needs to be treated like this.

  41. isabel lopez on July 22, 2022 at 10:34 pm

My dog just sleeps the ENTIRE time I’m gone.. no need to confine her. She doesn’t even get up to bark.. thanks Blink, I always wondered what went on while I was at work

  42. Strawbery Gashes on July 22, 2022 at 10:34 pm

Just a reminder to get a big crate for your human that doesn’t leave them cramped. Add a dog bed on the bottom for comfort too! Putting in stuffed animals that they like help to make it feel safer.

  43. Anne Kelly on July 22, 2022 at 10:36 pm

I hate those cages/crates. I have never used one and never will. My beautiful fur babies have the run of my house, which, incidentally has cream plush carpet in all the bedrooms, formal lounge and dining room, hallway. I have a doggie door and my babies have always had the run of our house (my house and theirs) – no rooms are closed to them, nor should they be. Both of my sisters and my nieces all do the same. We all own beautiful houses, all have cream carpet and WE DO NOT lock them out of rooms nor out of the house. They are all toilet trained and go in and out of our house whenever they want to.

  45. Dislike on July 22, 2022 at 10:39 pm

I didn’t want to do this to my dog. So he slept outside. Got tore up by Coyotes. Now he’s in a box underground

  46. Bodhi on July 22, 2022 at 10:41 pm

So Hilarious and so dramatically sad at the same time.

  47. dontpetmeimworking on July 22, 2022 at 10:43 pm

Crates are a valuable tool that can be used in a variety of situations, and in almost all of them, the purpose of the crate is to keep your dog SAFE. I have seen to many incidents where people have let their dog free-roam the house unsupervised and have electrocuted themselves to death after chewing through electrical wires, gotten into something toxic, or injured themselves because of seperation anxiety. Don’t be an uneducated prick.

  48. Ashley Watts on July 22, 2022 at 10:44 pm

I do not train my dog like this.. this is demonizing pet owners who train their dogs
