Jay Williams calls out Joel Embiid: Be a dominant post threat and stop settling for 3s! | Get Up

Jay Williams breaks down highlights from the Miami Heat’s 108-104 win, handing the Philadelphia 76ers their first home loss of the season. Williams says Ben Simmons should have taken the last shot and Joel Embiid should have hustled more on the Sixers’ last possession.

We only get media coverage when we lose or when people want to slander embiid or simmons

  2. Kirk Martin on December 24, 2019 at 8:59 am

That big body is designed to bang on the low post. Wreak havok and catching bodies. Sheesh

  3. AB on December 24, 2019 at 9:01 am

Embiid did the right thing imo, Simmons needs to stop being soft and drive through a 6’2 guard. I like Simmons but Sixers wont go anywhere with him, he just doesnt fit their team.

  4. Clout Chase on December 24, 2019 at 9:01 am

    BRETT BROWN SHOULD BE FIRED

  5. Tyler Brown on December 24, 2019 at 9:01 am

Post up so they can double him ? And he can kick it out to Simmons lol ?

  6. Adio Ash on December 24, 2019 at 9:02 am

Remember when we first saw embiid and Simmons play together and were like when these guys fully develop they are gonna be a problem. 3 years later they still haven’t developed. Literally both plays while still good haven’t got any better. Giannis was mvp last year and still got better.

  7. Michael Harris on December 24, 2019 at 9:03 am

Ben Simmons and Joel dont have that dog in them

  8. Cam101077 on December 24, 2019 at 9:04 am

    THE PROBLEM IS THEIR COACH

  9. Rob Davis on December 24, 2019 at 9:05 am

As a lifelong Sixerr fan this is our season in a nutshell. Simmons drives…stops looks around…no Jo in the post…passes to a poor shooter.

  10. D on December 24, 2019 at 9:07 am

Hey, since he doesnt wanna listen, let him play how he wants. He can reflect with regret when he retires.

  11. Shaar Lahat on December 24, 2019 at 9:08 am

We need a NBA caliber head coach that knows how to solve a 2-3 zone.

  12. Femi Alex Williams on December 24, 2019 at 9:13 am

Joel’s job would be so much easier if his Robin can shot.

  13. Fabio De La Cruz on December 24, 2019 at 9:15 am

Everyone wants embiid to dominate like Shaq but simply he is just not as athletic as shaq was , shaq at 320 pounds was quicker faster and had more hops embiid needs his jumpshot plus he seems to have less stamina, bro shaq was a beast, embiid needs his jumpshot

  14. courtney sanders on December 24, 2019 at 9:16 am

Been saying the same thing the last 2 years. You’re 7′ tall and 275lbs WHY are we camping out at the 3-point line?

  15. CASA MAC on December 24, 2019 at 9:16 am

Keep Sleeping on Miami.. They will end up in the Finals.. or Sending the Bucks home packing

  16. Elijah McRae on December 24, 2019 at 9:17 am

*Embiid changes his game to strictly post*

ESPN: Why do you keep going in the post? NBA is all about the 3pt line. Bigs in the NBA are developing their 3pt shot

    Y’all can’t make up y’all minds

  17. De’Aaron Rose on December 24, 2019 at 9:23 am

Ben Simmons been the same player since his rookie season. Smh no improvement

  18. LuDimezofKush on December 24, 2019 at 9:23 am

Jay Williams speaks with authority the way he speaks I believe he was an mvp and has several rings.

  19. Khoa Do on December 24, 2019 at 9:24 am

This team doesnt have a closer period.

  20. Eric R on December 24, 2019 at 9:25 am

Why is Brett Brown in the discussion?

  21. Brandon Norris on December 24, 2019 at 9:25 am

Ben Simmons playing scared and also being unwilling to change his game really does hurt this team. I really would move on from Ben. He is so overrated. If any other play had his weaknesses everyone would write him off as a bust but Ben Simmons gets a pass? Nah. That’s immaturity. Simmons refuses to listen to coaches and execs who dare him to shoot, so he honestly deserves all the bashing he is getting right now for his play

  22. John50 Beach on December 24, 2019 at 9:27 am

That only works if you have a point guard that can shoot. How tf you meant to space the floor if you’re only threat is post play? He’ll have no space to dribble

  23. king juice on December 24, 2019 at 9:27 am

they need to get someone to close games

  24. Ross JP on December 24, 2019 at 9:27 am

Embiid has to force Simmons to shoot jump shots by posting up consistently deep by the rim. Simmons can’t cop out of attacking the rim when it is open like that, he put his team in a worse situation by doing so.

  25. Freaky zombie43 on December 24, 2019 at 9:28 am

thank you! i cant believe his shooting! HES A CENTER

  26. PuppyTube on December 24, 2019 at 9:28 am

    Joel Embiid is overrated af

  27. Rudie Obias on December 24, 2019 at 9:30 am

Ben Simmons should’ve just scored the bucket instead of deferring.

  28. Won On 1 on December 24, 2019 at 9:31 am

All NBA players including point guards should post up more

  29. Daniel Tatum on December 24, 2019 at 9:36 am

    Jay Williams exposed them

  30. Ig on December 24, 2019 at 9:36 am

These same idiots that were praising the European centers for shooting three pointers are now criticizing a center for shooting three pointers. Porzingins is 7foot 3inches, Jokic is 7feet 1inche and they are praised for taking 3pointers. God forbid if a Imbid takes a 3pointer. All these black guys on TV are afraid of their shadows. Bunch of uncle toms.

  31. Jack Torres on December 24, 2019 at 9:38 am

So no one’s gonna give nunn credit for his defense?

  32. Frank L on December 24, 2019 at 9:38 am

Ben Simmons is the most overrated player in the league. He’s good, but ppl will tell you he’s a Top 15 player and that’s a joke. He’s overrated as a passer also. He’s a very willing passer so he gets assists but he doesn’t run the p&r effectively and never sees the game steps ahead like the great passers. He’s the master of the dribble hand off for a 3 lol

  33. jon mar on December 24, 2019 at 9:40 am

I knew what shaq and charles told him would only last a couple games. Smh so frustrating as a Sixers fan

  34. The Truth on December 24, 2019 at 9:40 am

Centers needs to be ban from shooting out sife shots

  35. Scotty Dippin on December 24, 2019 at 9:41 am

Ben Simmons is a LIABILITY. Forget shooting, if he’d just attack it’d change everything.

  36. caper087 on December 24, 2019 at 9:46 am

easy to say from that position … put yourself in thy situation fast paced who knows what yad do

  37. legendary soldier on December 24, 2019 at 9:47 am

Shaq and Barkley has sent the message, stop piling on Jay u clout chasing.embiid need to give Becky a break she draining him.

  38. D on December 24, 2019 at 9:47 am

It’s coming from someone that knows what he is talking about. J. Will was 6’2" and stayed attacking the rim and killing behind the arc too. FTs were his only weakness. His FTs probably cost duke a national title in 02 and definitely cost them at least a final 4 berth that year.

  39. M A K O on December 24, 2019 at 9:48 am

so disappointed ben simmons hasn’t got more of a dog in him. u can be too aggressive- like westbrook, young kobe
, u can be too passive like ben simmons- or even young lebron. but its harder to dial it up- than to dial it back .
and then sometimes- u get a luka who has perfect control of the pace of game. which is just unreal.

  40. Tony Rame on December 24, 2019 at 9:48 am

Embiid needs a player like Butler or Damian Lillard at the end of games. Simmons is not that guy. Simmons is not a PG but the dumb coach keeps trying to make him one. Fultz couldn’t play with Simmons cause Fultz could not shoot and is only decent when he has the ball. Simmons should be a point foward and look to shoot 3s in the corner if he is stopped in transition, Sixers offense would be much better.

  41. Reuben Ahmed on December 24, 2019 at 9:49 am

Sorry Jay Williams, you are cool, but you are not Shaq’uille O’Neal or Charles Barkley.

  42. Vos Landeck on December 24, 2019 at 9:49 am

Let’s not be stupid….there were just a few seconds left in the game. Simmons was 13 feet from the basket with no clear path. He’s not staring at the clock while he’s pushing the ball up the court and trying to avoid a defender. You basically have to run a mental clock in your head in that situation. Trying to blame Simmons in that situation for passing the ball to an open shooter as time is expiring is pretty moronic.

  43. David Falade on December 24, 2019 at 9:50 am

If Joel focuses on post play, who ever is guarding Ben Simmons will double him. It won’t work sir.

  44. Kevin Cannon on December 24, 2019 at 9:51 am

    Ya ok Jay

  45. crewcutter2030 on December 24, 2019 at 9:51 am

If sixer want to get rid of simon the heat can take him, in exchange for Dion "gummy bear" waiters.

  46. Tony Rame on December 24, 2019 at 9:52 am

The Coach Brett Brown only knows one system, pace and space motion system, except this year they dont have the players to run that system with JJ Reddick gone. Look back in 2017 when Embiid sat with the eye injury Sixers had shooters that they got off buyout, they had 5 catch and shoot shooters in Reddick, Illysova, Covington, Bellineli, and Saric, they fit that system so they had a 17 game win streak or something like that with Simmons being the engine sort of How Giannis plays in Milwakee. That style fits best with Simmons, Embiid cant play that style.

  47. James Fralick on December 24, 2019 at 9:56 am

philly will never be a championship team

  48. Klickety_Klak on December 24, 2019 at 9:57 am

Jay is cool, but mandem legit watched shaq and chuck on inside the nba and was like writing notes down acting like he coming up with complete new ideas and thoughts

  49. FOGUIM T. Francis on December 24, 2019 at 9:57 am

Simmons Simmons Simmons, shoot the f…g ball.
