Laundry Hair and Lint Catcher Review: Do They Work?
Laundry Hair and Lint Catcher Review: Do They Work?
These laundry hair and fur catchers have been heavily advertised on social media, but do they really work? Today I put them to the test.
Test 1: Hairy shirts WITH the catchers
Test 2: Hairy shirts WITHOUT the catchers
Test 3: Regular load of laundry WITH the catchers

Yey I knew it wouldn’t work
You’re too cute, just love that Bailey and James you too, you are definately a funny guy. Love your reviews
Came for the review, liked and subscribed instantly when I saw The Contortionist shirt. Absolute favorite band behind Tool. Big ups!
cutesy gadgets or no, Baily’s fur is HAIR to stay! *rimshot*
The problem is your washing machine, not the lint catcher. The idea of it is catch lint so plastic synthetic fibes don’t go down the drain and into our oceans. I don’t think pet hair is the problem.
Did you know that plastic fibers are now showing up in fish & shellfish sold in California and Indonesia for human consumption?
See, I hate lint collecting shirts. If have one polo that makes me feel like a walking ionic breeze, like I’m actually improving air quality as I walk by by sucking all manner of lint, dust, hair, and who knows what else out of the air for ten feet around me. The worst part is it will come out of the wash clean, it just doesn’t stay like that for more then an hour or so.
The only thing I’ve found that works is a few more steps then these things.
1. Use a lint brush on the particularly bad shirts *before* washing them.
2. Wash these shirts in their own load if possible.
3. Use more water in the wash with these shirts.
4. Make sure your lint trap and vents are clear. Good air flow through the dryer means it will suck away lint and hair better.
5. Use a dryer sheet that helps with static. I know a lot of people don’t think these sheets work. I’ve tested with an ESD meter (I work in a PCBA fab so I had access to one) and while not huge, there is a noticeable difference on materials. Polyester seemed immune but cotton, cotton/polyester blend, and wool all seemed to have varying amount of lower static.
Yes they work well,I got 6 in pink
Watched video to see if the contraption works, ended up being a fan of The Contortionist.
Darn. I was hoping this would be a nifty little problem solver.
If that’s how your shirts come out clean, you need to clean your dryer vent.
They do break after some usage. I use them in my portable washer. Best results there.
They dont work i just used yesterday
The teeth are shining strong in this one as well. Frig yeah baby.
As somebody who line dries my clothes (as you mention) these will definitely help me. I also want to let everybody know that most East Asian countries don’t use machine dryers, and judging by the color/style of the product it definitely looks like something sold in East Asia. So, westerners may not find them useful…
Bailey needs some serious brushings 🙂
And nope no sale here and lol
I. Use one of these in my counter top washing machine and I put one on the drain hose. I catch more hair in the drain. So this product fails for me.
I wish l had seen this before buying it. I really needed something to get rid of the dog hairs on my washing so l bought 4 so I could give them to my family. I wasted my money as it did not work. Plus, it was not mentioned that you can only use it in a top loading washing machine.
Please do not buy this. The seller did well in shutting up shop but he made his money out of us all.
You get an upvote for The Contortionist
Use a vacuum brush on Bailey about twice a week and wash her at least once a week. She’ll love you for it and You’ll have 1/10 the hair problems.
Crazy thing is you used 4 so if someone only had one It may only catch a fourth of that amount. Here in my house we just don’t wear black anymore lol
Came here after seeing an advertisement on Facebook for a lint/fur catcher, saying it’ll make your clothes fur-free. So to me this was quite useful, thank you!
It’s strange to look at someone that you can’t see your eyes with your glasses on…
Those things are complete trash, I now use them for small pieces of bar soap to lather my wash cloth’s with which work surprisingly well for that, just a tip for you maybe you can get some use out of them for that my friends…
Bro you don’t have hair on your head…
yeah, sorry to say that these things are LINT catchers, not hair removers, if your laundry gets smeared with gray lint in the waching machine, that’s where these come handy
There is still so much hair that is left on the shirt it really doesn’t matter. It is effectively useless.
the contortionist hell yeah dude
thanks bud, saved me some ca$h, now go and brush your beautiful dog lol
I bet if you used these with the fur zapper it would work wonders
Hi there. Last comment please ignore the colored (assistant) don’t know why it did that . Thank you.
Do you clean the filter of your washing machine? Cause you didn’t show it to us in this video.
I had one of those in the past and I really like it! It’s an extra filter for you washing machine. But if you don’t clean your washing machine filter, there is no use for those floating filters, cause they catch only the floating fur.
Ok
Chinese SHITE, stay clear.
I ordered 2 last year.
They were always empty (and I had a longhaired kittie) and they broke after 2 washings, both of them.
So not a fan.
I bought them to keep the pipes not clogged.
Hi there. LOVE your assistant.lol . Really like your videos. If an item is given a bad review I won’t buy it. Thank you, take care and God bless.
Petting the dog, for science.
ugh somone needs to invnt something that actually works!!! i feel like my life is being ruined by pet hair!!! my dogs are tiny i dont know how they produce so much shed!!!
They don’t work no matter what you do.
You missed the boat on this one. These things are designed to keep lint out of your drain pipes. Not made to clean the lint off your clothing. Don’t rub your shirts on the dog if you want to keep the hair off
I would like to see you use that advertized dog hair removal system on your shirts, and then clean it in the insertion devise to see how clean that will get your shirts and how much hair will be captured! Also, static electricity holds that hair on your shirts, so why not use an antistatic additive in your dryer?
No I have not
The lint catchers trap the lint in the water, if the hairs never leave the shirts it’s a different problem. Sticky rolls work better before the wash, don’t clog your drains.
Thanks for doing this video! I was thinking of buying these and was looking for reviews first.
Just saw a ad with a small portion of this video of you & Bailey and your shirt to sell Fur Catcher.
My clothing has the same problem, can’t seem to get rid of the cat fur. I think somehow it manages to weave itself into the fabric with it’s last ounce of strength.
I have used these in my modern front loading washing machine and they do work at catching the cat hair in the washing water for easy removal -before it goes into your drain. They are not for removing hair from your clothes. However both times I purchased they broke after only a couple of uses in the machine. I wish a UK company would make a more robust version.
