Meet The Puppies Training To Be Service Dogs

Meet the good boys and good girls of Doggie Do Good, a service dog training school in Arroyo Grande, CA. Follow as the dogs go through the training basics and begin to learn the extraordinary skills that make them heroes. We also meet a family of Puppy Raisers, one of the most crucial (and underappreciated) steps in raising service dogs.

a dog licking your cheek should not be a task nor warrant public access. All dogs can lick cheeks.

  2. Alice Ling26 on November 27, 2019 at 9:09 am

That lick from Mercy is adorable.

Listening to a story on my local radio program this morning inspired me to search for a video that could inform me further. How wonderful to find content that keeps me enthralled. Thank you to all of the service dog owners who educate us, and to the producers of programs like these. I am captivated by your commitment to your work. Bravo!

Is it weird that I think service dogs are faking the love so the owner can feel better thinking the service dog likes the owner

This really is a great video, it really touched home when they talked about the foster family’s because me and my family took in a German shepherd that was supposed to be a service dog down the line. We ended up falling in love with him (He was called Bauer) and we asked if we could keep him. Thankfully we were allowed. Have had lots of amazing memories over the years and sadly he passed away summer of last year due to terminal cancer. However the experience we gained from him has not only shaped us but our other Dog teddy who Bauer taught everything he knows.

I LIKE THIS EXCEPT FOR THE WHITE ASS NARRATOR. JUST A REMAINDER OF RACISM AND SEXISM WHEN I HEAR A WHITE MALE SPEAK.

  25. Ashley Smith on November 27, 2019 at 9:35 am

Is the narrator Max?! As in Sascha and max?!

My family and I have foumd it difficult in MI and trying to find a Service Dog place that doesn’t discriminate to help if your not in army or not in wheel chair suffering with CPTSD. Its worse almost debilitating in holidays night terrors and can’t go out and about. Even during none holiday months, we have desperately asked around for a place that does not turn their backs on CPTSD suffers who need a service dog, have proof by therapy specialist that works to help sufferers and a psychologist. However so far years of torment and suffering from my CPTSD and not one place willing to work witj me to receive training and have a Service Dog because I’m not outerly handicaped nor from military. Its shameful and discourages PTSD suffers. When the ability is there to help a Sever CPTSD suffer you try to contact service animal places the documentation, the years of proof is there so is the recommendation, however been turned away because the not in wheel chair, not a military person….how much more does this government and those who would help based on those factors continue to bring dispare, and discourage us who could finally get through the days, nights years with the help assistance of a Service Dog. My family and I feel helpless, I never asked to suffer from CPTSD, but being turned away cause I don’t meet their "for military and ♿ handicap criteria, overlooking my CPTSD" its a slap to my face and tearing me down and ready to give up on ever having the chance for a functional life with an Service Dog assistance that was recommended.

This is honestly such a dream job. Trainers put in so much effort, love and care into these dogs who’ll some day help the lives of their future owners. Complete respect to both the trainers and these beautiful dogs!
