Miniature service horse makes her first visit to Winterberry Charter School
Gwendolyn the miniature service horse made an introductory visit to her owner’s second grade class on October 22, 2015. Zaiden Beattie is one of several hundred kids in the United States living with Ataxia-telangiectasia, or A-T. It is a genetic disease that will eventually rob Beattie of balance and muscle control, and it will also compromise his immune system. Beattie changed schools from Russian Jack to Winterberry this year because Winterberry follows the Waldorf school design where students remain with each other and the same teacher from kindergarten through eighth grade. Beattie’s parents believe this environment will be more beneficial to him as he grows older and his condition worsens.
The horse looks overwhelmed ;-;
Animal abuse
bro this legit is a waldorf school which makes so much sense to me. its a super expensive hippy dippy private school, they’re super inclusive and accepting of children with developmental disabilities. I graduated from one a few years back and tbh im not surprised that they’re allowing a service horse into the building lol. we used to have a guinea pig roam the halls at my old school, now they’re having indoor therapy goats
That pony looks like it’s saying help to many children
I don’t agree with a horse in a school class room
If he was in my School he would get all the girls
they say ponies have like 360-degree field vision which means a ponies sight is a lot stronger than a dog’s so good choice
Where does it use the restroom?
poor horse
I feel like the kids are annoying
Замучалиииииииии!
B
you have to find the ability within the disability
Gwen is so cute and zaiden looks soo happy with him/her idk
They should’ve made the kids keep their distance from the horse, it could get too stressed in the area if a lot of noisy children are around it.
This is utterly stupid then they sell the pony because someone gets injured and that is probably the predicted future !
The boy with one front tooth is cute
I get the idea and it’s great to see the boy happy, but the nature of horses is so different to a horses nature. Since they don’t live on a nutritious diet, they have to eat pretty much constantly to not develop colic, so unless she’s only in service for 2-3 hours a day, this isn’t healthy for her..
Did… did they feed her carrot discs??!??!???
I love that boys missing teeth. So cute!
Hey
The horse looked extremely bored in the classroom
this is cute, but imagine how overwhelmed Gwen must be feeling at recess when they’re all petting her and braiding her hair lol
Wait the pony and me have the same name LOL
I have problems with this looking at the little horse. She doesn’t belong in a classroom staying there all the time. It’s still a horse eventhough I understand why it’s there. Still, looking from the horse it must be stressful and not healthy, mentally and physically. Also a horse needs to eat all day, not just when humans think it’s ok. It’s not good for their digesting system.
HOW could anyone dislike this?! This is one of the most adorable things I have ever seen!
Papuga Charlie Ara muwi ko to Lolo jojo
If you didn’t know that a miniature horse is actually a pony and baby horses are fouls and big horses are horses
I don’t mean to hate or anything this my opinion and i do think it is lovely having a pony into school but heres my opinion:
1. Horse looks over weight
2. Children are screeming and shouting in the back ground when they are in the playground
3. Giving all those treats with loads of sugar in could cause lamitnitis which is fatal to horses especially with horses that are over weight
So this horse will never get to be around other horses or run in a pasture eat and drink when she wants. Basically just a slave for her whole life. There has got to be another way.
im all up for this being a service animal for him. but horses are unpredictable and could kick out at any moment. the pony should not be so enclosed because she will eventually get annoyed.
This is animal abuse and a bunch of little kids should not be touching a service animal you don’t see any adults or any other little kids touching a service dog or other service animal this is not okay
Poor horse I love horses but if I was a horse I would get scared of that many poeple
I feel bad for the Shetland just standing their like." What the heck am I doing here, this is not my warm stable."
THAT HORSE WAS GETTING surrounded
I ride horses
At 3:30 the teacher is looking like she hates ponies
Es ist ja gut für den jungen aber denk mal ins Pony
Poor pony so many kids around it
Although dogs are very companionate about humans horses are very sturdy trustworthy animals dogs take a little time to gain your trust horses and ponies on the other hand can bond with a human almost immediately and that’s why some people have ponies not dogs
Poor horse if they make too loud of a noise it could scare it
Stop touching the animal kids.
I am so angry! Any horse or pony needs constant hay or grass to chew and water! Horses graze up to 18 hours per day and no matter where they are they must be given this option! If not it causes severe damage to to the hind gut(they have 2) it can cause colic, stress, behavioural problems! Great for the kids! Awful for the poor pony! Even if on a diet you double net the hay and soak it to reduce calorific intake! And what was wrong with the ponies eye, it was constantly weeping, looked like he was blind in the one eye, or eye infection.
I need this in my classroom :O
That’s one small school
The world doesn’t deserve horses
