You should see how petco keeps their rats, hamster, mice, chinchillas, and ferrets. :/

  2. strxwbxrry on July 4, 2022 at 3:56 am

I mean ya it’s cool interactive pet cages but like this is not a cartoon it’s a pet store this is absolutely horrible what pet stores do for cages I am absolutely disappointed in the way people treat these animals

  3. BudgieStar360 on July 4, 2022 at 3:56 am

2:53 – That image is of the Pets at Home near me. It used to look like that but a while after they did take all the animals away except from the fish… I haven’t been there since 2 or 3 years ago so I’m not sure if they’ve got the animals back… But I vividly remember the young kids screaming and squealing, banging on the glass of the enclosures, and the animals were petrified!

  4. Fidget Butterflies on July 4, 2022 at 3:58 am

They need more space they are smart amazing pets

  5. Dani elle on July 4, 2022 at 3:59 am

My local store I think has been redesigned but it’s a pretty small store which is probably why they didn’t make it into a playground. The enclosures have those red ‘hides’ but the employees did actually add extra proper hides inside which is good. I think some stores are ran well because they have employees who genuinely care for the animals and want the best for them and others like the owners are just there to get paid.

Animals from chain pet stores come from rodent mills. Please google image search this. Are you okay with supporting this? Buying animals from pet stores gives money to this industry, and continues the breeding of your pets parents in these horrible conditions.

Good reputable ethical breeders, rescues, people rehoming their pets – theres always better options. Please watch this video of mine about the topic:

My rabbit from pets at home is super friendly, relaxed and happy

  8. Joanne Bromage on July 4, 2022 at 4:03 am

If they do, do that it will not be good of the animals I would not be happy if I was an animal there

  9. Sara Tavington on July 4, 2022 at 4:09 am

When I saw the thumbnail I thought it was about a playground FOR pets, and I was like, "wait, why is that a bad thing?" lol. Yeah chain stores suck, they care only about what will bring in money, not what will keep the animals safe and healthy.

  13. Olivia Star on July 4, 2022 at 4:13 am

Has anyone else spoken up about this to Pets at Home or similar pet stores? Any results?

  14. delicately_blessed on July 4, 2022 at 4:13 am

imagine being a little kid and stepping on a small animal….

  15. AnnasStorybox on July 4, 2022 at 4:14 am

The sad thing is: people will copy these enclosures at home. Despite signage and pamphlets about proper care people will wrongfully think "well, they are in that space and with this tiny plastic bucket hide in the store so it has to be fine"…

  16. Maya The Gerbil Lover on July 4, 2022 at 4:16 am

    I hate pet stores

  18. little_ratties on July 4, 2022 at 4:17 am

Small animals have lives they aren’t just little toys you can carelessly traumatise without thought.

  19. catboy comrade on July 4, 2022 at 4:21 am

i saw a male rat called sonic in the pets at home adoption area, alone, in a tiny perspex tank that could barely fit him and a wheel. it was horrible.

  20. Isybisythee_12 on July 4, 2022 at 4:23 am

myy sis said to go to the place where she got her snake dont worry its not pet smart i hate pet smart only for how they treat their animals it sucks but when my sis got her snake she was nie and heathy and they chreated and im getting a ratt yay

  21. s1999 on July 4, 2022 at 4:25 am

10:38 I’d just like to add, rats and mice (I’m not sure whether it also applies to hamsters and other rodents) can’t see through see through hides if they’re coloured red. For them its just as secure as any other appropriate hide! But I still agree with every point made on this video 🙂

  22. OLIVES ARE HEALTHY on July 4, 2022 at 4:27 am

That pets at home is the one in my town. It sickens me that I live next to it so much

  23. catboy comrade on July 4, 2022 at 4:27 am

i bought a hamster from pets at home when i was about eight. she was skittish, stressed, bit, and absolutely hated people. i felt awful so i just left her alone. i changed her food and water and helped my parents clean her cage and never handled her.

  24. Perry Fellows on July 4, 2022 at 4:27 am

  27. Hope on July 4, 2022 at 4:30 am

I’m not getting anymore pets. The older I get the more it is hard to say goodbye. Especially birds that live a long time. Also some can be needy

  28. Meme13100 !! on July 4, 2022 at 4:30 am

This isn’t safe for small animals or children.

  29. Annie Beanie on July 4, 2022 at 4:32 am

I think anyone who cant understand how hordes of kids running around will be stressfull for the animals, should simply imagine oposite situation….

  30. kelly cosgrove on July 4, 2022 at 4:33 am

Can I just point out this girl is pointing out pets at home kylie stores, there’s minimal kylie stores, just annoys me because most of the pets at home stores are the original design…this being for the wellfare of the matter what kids will run up and shout and tap glass no matter how many signs/or times you tell them not too..pets at home is a good place to get your pets from they do follow up calls and follow strict procedures to keep animals happy and healthy I’ve never seen a kylie store in my life PAH will get all their animals from a breeder they know has done the breeding in a safe way the staff do months and months of training to make sure they’re clued up on how to care for each animal

  31. Carmen Nickless on July 4, 2022 at 4:33 am

WHO WOULD DO SUCH A THING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  32. Rat Maman on July 4, 2022 at 4:34 am

Why is it so common to target children when it comes to advertising and sell animals? Like since when people decided that a little kid can take care of rats, rabbits and other small animals? Like the fact that these animals are small doest make them easy to handle. They are very demanding in care and need to be treated with a lot of caution, gentleness and knowledge. Kids can’t even take small animals in their hands without hurting or traumatizing them or even killing. Because they just simply don’t understand how to handle them, they have no idea how strong they should hold the animal. Like in what world is that okay to give such a responsibility to a child? Teenagers are okay but not 5 year old kids.

  33. Joanne Bromage on July 4, 2022 at 4:35 am

Basildon and Pitsea have not done that

  34. Magdalena Zajęcka on July 4, 2022 at 4:35 am

Oh my God this is horryfing! The cages in pet stores in Poland are bad, but not THAT

My local Pets at Home just announced that they’ll be installing the new ‘store of the future’ in the coming weeks – I was already trying to limit my time spent in Pets at Home, but after this? It’s a definite no from me. I don’t understand how they can possibly think that this is a good idea.

  37. Claire Duffield on July 4, 2022 at 4:39 am

I hate to say but I used to work for pets at home and left after less than a month . And the new look is not good it’s very very bad , too small and kids would scear the anmails 🙁 I am with u with anmial well far lovely

  38. IcyStorm on July 4, 2022 at 4:39 am

On what I’ve seen in my local pets at home the enclosures are also always so small and they don’t usually have alot to do for instance the rat one I saw was so small and the rats looked so sad 🙁

  39. ThisIsntAsh on July 4, 2022 at 4:41 am

Our local Pets at Home had a redesign a few weeks ago and I haven’t gone in since but I’m a bit scared it’s going to have this redesign

  40. Clove Was Here on July 4, 2022 at 4:42 am

I got my rats from pets at home and they had a wooden house and quite a few toys and let us have some off the toys for free some places do better than others buy they should still get a better enclosure

  41. The person you will never know the inside of...... on July 4, 2022 at 4:44 am

It looks cool, right but the animals have so much smaller cage sizes this is awful

  42. The Sporadic Sportsman on July 4, 2022 at 4:44 am

Luckily my local Pets at Home still has the old design

  43. Prity Prinses on July 4, 2022 at 4:45 am

I love your videos and your rats are so cute and I go pet at home one a month and I don’t like them pet at home they say rabbits need caghis and water bottle and the animals are strest and they say they small animals are all for kids

  44. Tanked up Steve on July 4, 2022 at 4:51 am

This is a store chain that’s doomed.
Their online suggestion section? Manned by a few Hamsters.
    A dwindling fish stock.
    Poorly hurriedly undertrained staff.
Tesco express are no doubt awaiting the floor space.
You’ll find a bigger better array of aquatic equipment at THE RANGE. And thats just their sideline.
Alas Pets At Home we knew them well

  45. Hol on July 4, 2022 at 4:51 am

Is this petition still ongoing? I was thinking of signing it.

  46. dracul—aura.. on July 4, 2022 at 4:51 am

my local pets at home doesn’t suck ig its judt all the staff know nothing about the animals there because most of them are just thick and know nothing which is really not healthy for the animals there, plus in my pets at home the fish section is gross, they ask u what liter your tank is and if u have a 10L tank you should have only like 3 small fish in, theu have crap ton of fish in a small ass tank which is really unhealthy
