Restaurant owners struggle with gray areas in ADA laws regarding service animals
While some businesses may be dog friendly, dogs are not allowed inside restaurants unless they are a service animal.
If they just read the ADA FAQ they wouldnt feel thier is so much grey and no power for them…this is just laziness
No one EVER stops to consider that unsuspecting patrons who have allergies, phobias, or traumas may not WANT to be surprised with an freaking animal sitting next to them. I don’t discount the great service these animals provide, nor the need of their owner/patient….but there HAS to be something more than just asking an owner ‘is that a service animal?" People LIE! People even BELIEVE their own lies and opinions — the ADA does not consider emotional support animals as service animals, yet you’ll have EVERYONE with an emotional support pet calling them a ‘service’ animal when THEY ARE NOT THE SAME.
It would be great if restaurants had an area, maybe with some really good air filtering to seat those who do come in with animals. Pet dander and hair may not harm you…the thought of it floating through the air though…makes me just as ill as finding a human hair in my food.
