SHOPPING FOR PET SUPPLIES AT UNUSUAL PLACES

SHOPPING FOR PET SUPPLIES AT UNUSUAL PLACES

You don’t always have to buy all of your pet supplies at traditional stores such as Petco or PetSmart. Today I thought I would show you some of my favorite places to check out for some more unusual pet supplies.

  1. The charity shops near me never have anything I could use for pets except cat toys my BTS liked when he was little. I have bought some cage toppers and bits from the local recycling centre though, a big cage with loads of accessories for £7 for on top of the gerbil tank was a great buy. Also TK Maxx for fake plants for my BTS, especially in the last chance or slightly damaged areas. I’ve got a few things from Ikea, they had a great oven dish that’s perfect for his water bowl as he fits in it to soak if he wants.

  2. I got a hamster house at a garage sale, they said it was a doll step thing because it had little steps on the front but it also had holes on the side and was above the ground a good amount so I used it for my hamster

  3. Where I live small pets are not something that people just have my boyfriend is the only person i know that has gerbils I have Guinea pigs and i know some people that have guinea pigs or ferrets but that is about it where I live there are a lot of cats and dogs and rabbits also farm animals also you have to go out of town just to get a guinea pig a ferret anything like that it’s pretty far away we only have one pet store and we only got it 2017 and they only have cats for adoption Walmart was the only place to get pet supplies we had a fish stop but they closed 2015

  4. I saw an older video of yours setting up the gargoyle cage. When misting the water does the water need to be bottled or is tap fine?

  5. I get all of my critter dishes at discount/second hand stores. I totally would have gotten that bunny dish and that red berry with leaves thing! I wish there was a Dollar Tree where I lived. OMG my house would be SO FULL of their crap…. I would end up on Hoarders: Buried Alive 😛

  7. I wouldn’t buy artificial plants in other shops. You should online buy them in pet shops because they’re especially made for pet usage

  9. I also go to dollar stores for fake plants and containers for storage. I even bought small shells in a bottle (for the bottle) and cleaned it out to make a storage for powdered foods. Of course, not recommended if house is very humid, powder will get moist and yeah….don’t want that.

  10. I could not find a wheel for my hamster when I first got him I went to local pet stores and they only had 12in and like 5in and i needed 10in lol i even looked online amd couldnt find any that would get here in a decent amount of time then i walked into a GoodWill near by and immediately found a 10in silent spinner for $4 lol love it and most of his hides are vases and ceramics from a goodwill it is so much cheaper and nicer lol

  11. Hi Where do you get all your hamster and stuff from because I might start my own little shop fir hamsters

  12. dont read if you get butthurt easily i cant be the only one who thinks she has something wrong with the way she speaks like mmm

  13. This is such a cool idea to find little ceramic hides for hamsters! But a a guinea pig owner I struggle to find things big enough – any advice?

  15. I never buy plants at any pet stores anymore! I’m always shuffling around the craft stores looking for some cheap finds 🙂 I’ll also use clay or grout (sealed & safe when 100% dry) to create bases for any plants that I want to stand up! Super easy and super cheap!

  16. My goodness! You guys can get a lot of great stuff anywhere over there! That first thrift Shop seemed to have a lot of pet stuff! Ours don’t have any, or as much. Just the occasional plastic bowl. Makes me wish I could move to America, instead of being in Australia! Lol

  17. Hello! I have a quick question for anyone who would like to answer. If I were ever to get a hamster how often should I handle them? I don’t even want to consider getting a hamster if I don’t have the time for them! I am not getting a hamster anytime soon, so this is not urgent…I would just like to know. Thanks

  19. For fish and/or reptile aquariums, I go to a local landscaping store. They sell flagstone and slate for about $10 "by the inch." You go up to the pallet that the flagstone or slate is stacked on, they measure the height, you take what you want off the top and they measure again. Say you take 3 inches, it’s $30 for probably 50-60lbs worth. So much cheaper than "X" amount per pound at a pet store. Great for building caves for fish or hides for reptiles.

  20. hey, so I’ve had my leopard gecko ever since he was very young. I’ve had it on paper towel since I got him and was wondering if I should switch to eco earth full time? I use it in my diy moist hide I created for it, but he constantly tries to dig the paper towel and eco earth and ends up messing it up..it’s just abt 50 grams. Idk if that helps but yea

  21. I once got a 20g tall for $10 at a good will. It has some cosmetic scratches but holds water and works well as a planted tank
