Just discovered your channel. I just got a mini goldendoodle puppy and was curious if you had recommendations for puppy food. I am in the PNW and would love to support local but top priority is the best food I can afford. Currently feeding farming ancient grains but her poop is really soft/wet but not runny.
I’m in the camp who prefers things as natural as possible. But I rotate between several raw brands since everyone uses different produce to balance their foods and different proteins to give my two as much variety as possible. We also use raw goats milk, home made bone broth, and green juju produce blends regularly. My dogs definitely eat better than I do most days
Does anyone have any thoughts on Northwest Naturals raw food?? I normally do Stella and Chewy freeze dried mixed with natures logic and goats milk
Thank you for this comparison video! I was at my wit’s end with one of my dogs, a schipperke/min pin mix. He has always had a sensitive tummy/metabolism, and now that he’s about 13 years old, he has reactions to food that will crop up suddenly, even if he was able to eat that same food before. I finally settled on Orijen but he started coughing at night and then upchucking his dinner. Switched him back to home food but he couldn’t seem to take that anymore. Tried Farmer’s Dog and he seemed miserable. He could not keep Stella and chewy’s treats down, so finally, after researching, got some Primal to try. He still wasn’t quite 100% but I add one or two cubes of frozen squash with every meal, and now he’s back to his happy self. I took him to the vet a couple of times and they couldn’t find anything wrong. I suspect he might have a collapsing trachea too, but am not sure about that. And so, he’s been a patient little man, putting up with all kinds of food experimentation, happily eating whatever I put in front of him. But the Primal has proven to be a winner for him, and yes it’s quite expensive, but I’m lucky to be able to afford it for him and my little chihuahua mix (knock on wood). Thanks for letting me vent, and thank you for this valuable info.
Can you make a video about what qualifies a food to say “vet approved” on the brand or line of food? One of the brands of food I buy my dog just came out with a vegan dog food and I don’t know how I feel about that. But the line of vegan food says vet approved on it and I’m just wondering what they need to do to get that? I also see other vegan dog foods saying “vet formulated” like what does that mean?
Great information! Do you do individual consultations ? If so, how to contact? Thks
I know you didn’t a ranking scale with popular food brands but I was wondering your take on Stella and Chewy’s standard grain free kibble
hi dear i don’t know how to reach you i was wondering if you can do a review on a little bigpaw canned dog food can you tell if it’s great for my Maltese 10 months dog
THX A MILLION FOR MTHE INFO
I’d love a recent on raw food price and quality video. currently switch back and forth from stella and chewy and primal for my cats and dog. but I’m looking to save some $$!!
Hello! As a nutritionist in training j find these super helpful. I was also curious if you could examine Petcos brand Whole Hearted. It’s somewhat new and made by Taste of The Wild. It’d be interesting to really dive down on how good it is
Needing a video on vet diets!
I have a question, could you review freely’s limited ingredient whole grain kibble?
Thinking about switching to this brand because it’s single protein foods, and no chicken at all, which will be great for when I introduce a new puppy, as most puppy food is chicken based, and I know my current dog would eat it.
I’m also hoping to rotate proteins and include raw toppers for the new puppy. We do raw toppings for current dog as well.
I feed primal to my dogs… my pups love it.
I wanted to ask you what are your thoughts on Ziwi peak dry food for dog?
Hey Can you please review Dibaq sense dog food?
our dogs love primal
I love primal
Which ones do you consider the best on the market then?
Actually more of a Stella and Chewy camp, though I have seen Primal frozen nuggets for cats, and they seemed convenient. She’s crazy about them for a week, hence we are rotating between canned, fresh, and frozen, which seems to suit her. When I go out of town she eats kibble, I’m not so gung ho, but it does work for me. Trying to figure out ways to add more moisture when I do this. She’s quite a fussy cat, so I’m pretty happy when she likes something.
What are your thoughts on open farm kibble
Can you please do a video on small breed dog food I have a Mini chihuahua and I really just wanna make sure she gets the best and all good stuff she needs
Do you think you can do a video on small batch?
Overall do would you recommend Stella and Chewy’s to someone who is looking at feeding raw or incorporating raw to their dog kibble?
Can you please do a video on the nutritional benefits of refrigerated dog foods, like Freshpet? I live in a rural area, so I don’t have access to a lot of these nicer brands, but my local grocery has a small refrigerated endcap that looks better than kibble. I live alone and work full time, so I don’t have time to put her meals together myself, but I want to make sure I’m feeding my dog as healthy a diet as possible.
Thank you so much! I am going to be trying raw pet food because my poodle has some intense allergies. I was completely overwhelmed and this really helps with a place to start
How do you feel about Dr. Marty’s freeze dried food?
I personally like honest kitchen and only natural pets. But it was costing too much for me so for the last year my newfs have been eating mostly kibble but I add eggs, meat, yogurt, bananas, and other things around my kitchen but next month I’m going to start back on honest kitchen but as a topper
I work full time as a manager for Pet Suppliss Plus, can you tell me where the Redford brand lands
The food for animals might be good but, working at that place was hell
Like everyone here really enjoys your video, you are amazing. Thank you for sharing your knowledge. You know that a lot of pet owners love their pets like their own children including my pets.
Hi Skylar! I’m getting a bully boxer mix soon and I’d love to ask you some questions about feeding her! Do you have an email I send my questions to maybe book a consultation?
My cat has been raw fed since about 3 months old, but I have fallen on some hard times. Right now I feed him Orijen Cat Dry and mix it with an egg and water, plus give him some meat when I can. I feel horrible for changing it, but I’m excited to get back to raw when I can.
I recently switched from incorporating primal frozen raw into my dogs diet to using Stella and chewy. I gave a little bit of both all seemed ok but today is the first time they got all Stella and my dog has thrown up and has very runny poo. Should I worry and go back to primal or just wait
your videos are awesome! thank you
My dog loves her raw bison but she’s loves the crunch of kibble so I do 85% raw 15% Kibble mixed together so she gets the crunches
What canned food do you recommend for a senior cat (12 years) prone to urinary issues? I can’t seem to find a high quality cat food that is canned, for senior cats, AND for urinary issues. It’s so frustrating! Thank you in advance!
Also need a video on why vets love Purina so much
Can you do a video on tuckers raw food? I carry it at my work and would love to hear your thoughts and opinions on it! Also 3 out of my 5 animals have extreme urinary/renal and digestion issues and they have been on raw food and have had no more health issues so far. I love your videos❣️ I work at hollywood feed and your videos are phenomenal. I show your channel to alot of my customers
What is your opinion on Whole Hearted Dry Dog Food?
I like the idea of avoiding synthetic vitamins and minerals. However, my concern about Primal is that I think they achieve this by using mostly heart and liver as the muscle meat portion of their food. Ruminant livers like beef are extremely high in copper and too much copper can cause liver problems in dogs. Poultry livers are lower in copper so rotating the formulas for ruminant animals with poultry may help avoid excessive copper levels which can definitely cause liver damage in dogs and some breeds are more susceptible to this problem than others. Liver from ruminant animals should not make up more than two percent of the diet. I make my own raw dog food so I know exactly what is in it which I realize may not be for everyone.
Small batch!!!!!
Id love to see your opinion on a bunch of Oral health dog food and give your opinion on which one you think is best.
Are there other brands along with Primal that offer freeze dried without synthetics? Thank you!
I rotate all foods I feed my dogs and cats. I am doing my best to keep my cats off kibble all together, but with 2 large dogs I do have to feed mostly kibble to them. I rotate brands and proteins and will top with raw or give raw for 1 meal all week.
