This episode is super close to my heart! On May 26, 2019 I made a suggestion on Build-A-Bear Workshop’s Instagram account. Never in a million years would I have thought they would take my suggestion and make it a reality!

Little did I know while celebrating Pay Your Age Day 2019 the employees at my favorite Build-A-Bear Workshop location in Woodburn, OR would make my visit extra special by showing me the service dog vests that I had suggested to them! I was super excited because they had JUST gotten in the #servicedog vests THAT morning & I was the 1st to see them!

Q1. What is a service animal?
A. Under the ADA, a service animal is defined as a dog that has been individually trained to do work or perform tasks for an individual with a disability. The task(s) performed by the dog must be directly related to the person’s disability.

Q2. What does “do work or perform tasks” mean?
A. The dog must be trained to take a specific action when needed to assist the person with a disability.

Just in case you were wondering, Zeus is my Psychiatric Service Dog. He has full access rights to accompany me anywhere the public goes. I had him prescribed to me by a Doctor as a last resort option to help with my mental disabilities. He is owner-trained to do multiple tasks some of which include alerting & responding to anxiety & panic attacks, interrupting behaviors like self-harming, dissociation, & crying. He also provides tactical stimulation like blocking, DPT (Deep Pressure Therapy) & LPT (Pressure Point Therapy).

About my channel:
Welcome to BPD in a Littlish RV – Adventures to Build-A-Bear Workshop. My name is Kitty & I have been clinically diagnosed with Borderline Personality Disorder, General Anxiety Disorder & Major Depressive Disorder. I have a psychiatric service dog named Zeus who accompanies me everywhere I go to help with my daily life activities. My husband & I have been together since 2008, married since 2014. He is my full-time caretaker whom you will sometimes hear me refer to as Daddy in my littlish state of mind.

Together we travel the Untied States in our 21ft RV & a 9ft Smart car visiting tourist traps, hidden gems and the local shops while collecting Build-A-Bear Workshop Pawsport Stamps along the way. I’ll try my best to make it fun though sometimes it may get deep; the one thing you can always count on is it being real!
