  3. Ryan Penn Fields on November 18, 2022 at 11:21 am

Thank you for making this video! It amazes me how many people are uneducated on the matter. When I got my COVID vaccine, the nurse who was administering it AND the nurse at the booth next to us were talking to my service dog, trying to touch him and saying how they think "every dog should be a service dog, they bring so much happiness," all while my dog was actively tasking in an effort to prevent an episode. And these are medical professionals smh.

I have also been diagnosed with bipolar disorder. What tasks are you hoping your dog will help you with?

  5. Stacey Parker on November 18, 2022 at 11:27 am

I suffer from Anxiety and I suffer from Dizzy Spells and Fainting spells. What does my dog come under?

  6. At Your Service on November 18, 2022 at 11:27 am

Great video! ESAs are great for people, but do not have access rights. Many states are cracking down on owners who bring ESA’s in stores, with fines and charges.

  7. Hxneyc0mbs on November 18, 2022 at 11:27 am

Question are u gonna do another creature feature I loved those

  8. Felwinter02 on November 18, 2022 at 11:29 am

Imagine a therapy tegu. That would be awesome

  9. horsegranola on November 18, 2022 at 11:32 am

I’ve been in inpatient care before. There’s nothing quite like hearing “there’s a dog here!” to help me get out of bed!

  10. The Bunny Dojo - Rabbit Care and Bun Fun on November 18, 2022 at 11:36 am

    Good to know!

  11. James Staples V on November 18, 2022 at 11:42 am

Think I will use my snake for an ESA ,no one would know if I don’t tell .

  12. True on November 18, 2022 at 11:46 am

  13. Knightly Will on November 18, 2022 at 11:48 am

My cat can detect my epilepsy seizures and my Asthma attacks before I can he’s lovely

    Is a service dog good

  14. Mia Unverzagt on November 18, 2022 at 11:49 am

Can a dog be both esa and therapy? I work in a nursing home and have a note from my psychiatrist for esa but I want a dog I can go volunteer with.

  15. wildlupus on November 18, 2022 at 11:49 am

cats can also be service animals – mainly in canada. there are a few special instances where a cat is considered a service animal in the US. it doesn’t matter on the state’s law. if your illness is severely life-threatening, you’re permitted a service cat. it may be harder to explain to people that your cat is a service cat, though.

  16. Jhope_ bts love on November 18, 2022 at 11:53 am

I’m gonna show this video to my aunt. She thinks my dog is an ESA, but he’s not just for psychiatric disabilities. He’s also for cardiac alert and mobility too. She doesn’t believe I need a service dog.

  17. Arcade Krew on November 18, 2022 at 11:55 am

Service dog handler here I love the way you still included therapy dogs and ESA animals as higher then the normal pet but made it clear service dogs are at the top of the line

  18. Ori Fine on November 18, 2022 at 11:56 am

I currently have a service dog in training. Thank you for educating people!

  19. Sarah Sassoon on November 18, 2022 at 11:57 am

I feel like ESAs should be recognised as an option for people in the UK. It sucks that they aren’t I truly feel like it would be helpful for some who need it.

I have tons of mental disorders, more in the process of being diagnosed, and I have always wanted a service dog because I think it would help me a lot, one of the things being grounding when I dissociate which can happen, or alerting when I start to get too nervous and need to be removed from a situation, or stopping my bad anxious habits such as severe nail biting, I also sometimes tic so hard I cant really see (blinking tic) and i sometimes zone out so having a dog be able to lead me out of the way of others or to a corner where I can calm down would be so helpful!

I doubt I will ever get one but we’ll see

  22. Lawlzinator on November 18, 2022 at 12:02 pm

In any case, 90% of "support animal" owners are just dumbasses sticking a store-bought vest on their personal pets just so they can take them anywhere and everywhere

  23. Milly Mae on November 18, 2022 at 12:02 pm

can a raccoon be a service animal

  24. Gemini rose quarts on November 18, 2022 at 12:03 pm

I wanted to make my lady mae a esa. She’s soooooo conditioned I legitimately bring her EVERYWHERE! She is highly trained and very well behaved I get compliments all the time. She absolutely loves to be held , pet, cuddled. She’s a German short-haired pointer. They let me.bring her in my Walmart bc she’s very well behaved she walks directly by my side and doesn’t bark at ppl nor does she act poorly.

  25. Sally Johnson on November 18, 2022 at 12:04 pm

Trying to get a ESA letter from doctor. He is requesting me get a certificate for the dog?! Aren’t those for service dogs. The complex does have me sign responsibility for the animals welfare, etc. he says he won’t sign it because I don’t have a certificate and that if anything happens he can lose his license?!! Is that true?

  26. Avri Rogers on November 18, 2022 at 12:06 pm

I am a freshman in high school, and I have anxiety that is almost always at least slightly dehabilitating. When I am in public, oftentimes I lose my sense of awareness and if I am on my own, it is hard to walk in a meaningful direction and figure out where I am. I have many panic attacks as well, and it can be hard to function daily. I am not sure if a service or support animal would be a good idea, but if anybody has any suggestions or ideas, please let me know. I have been doing worse in school and I often have panic attacks during class, causing me to miss learning opportunities. It is becoming a huge issue in my life and I am not sure what to do.

What would be a real place for service dog??

  28. makennnzie on November 18, 2022 at 12:07 pm

As someone who used to help train Service Dogs for veterans with PTSD, Thank You so much for this video. So so thorough and accurate!!!

  29. Stormi Draws on November 18, 2022 at 12:07 pm

Thank you for this video. You’d think it be more well known but the amount of people who think the terms psychiatric service dog and ESA are the same thing is scary. Source been a PSD user for 4 years.

Editing to ad this story. A person at my psychiatrist office didn’t like the fact my in Training dog at the time being there so they lied and told the director that my dog growled at her children (she didn’t charli was always quiet) the director waited the four hours until I left, ambushed us in the parking lot and got in between charli and i and my family in the car and in my face (a 17 year old patient with PTSD) and verbally assaulted me. Charli was terrified and pulled against in prong to try and pull us away from him. Charli was ruined after that. I tried for the next two years to salvage her Training only for her to develop anxiety induced agression. I’m now struggling to train a replacement. It’s simply people if you see a dog in a place they normally aren’t allowed leave them alone

My cousin has kind of a support animal (or maybe it counts as a Service animal) it’s a cat and it’s had no training, anyway cousin has PTSD one day she was home alone and starting to have a panic attack one of her cats noticed this and jumped on her lap and slightly scratched her leg and meowed at her and was keeping her distracted from having a PTSD attack till her mom got home

  31. Lucy The Service Beagle on November 18, 2022 at 12:08 pm

So many people are uneducated about service dogs, it will honestly surprise you. When I got my service dog little did I know I would need to say, “ma’am please stop your uhhh.. “service parrot” from screaming at my dog?”

  32. TattedBaddiiee on November 18, 2022 at 12:08 pm

I have 2 esa’s (2 cats) and I’m planning on getting a service dog! I’m currently talking to my medical professionals and my household members for what fits best for us all

  35. Eddia Kpop on November 18, 2022 at 12:14 pm

In Oklahoma they identify esa as a service animal so they can’t make me give up pets that legally places wouldn’t allow like my snake and lab pit pup and rats

  36. LavenderHoneyPup on November 18, 2022 at 12:16 pm

I have a great dane service dog I love this video!

  37. New_worldscats! on November 18, 2022 at 12:18 pm

as a person with a lot of mental issues and is a big animal lover, i never knew these types of animals existed

  38. WilliDoes on November 18, 2022 at 12:19 pm

@Emzotic I have a question since you seem to know a lot, I have a severe version of anxiety disorder and I am wondering if there are other types of animals that could be considered service animals? Like smaller dogs (dachshund, pomeranian, etc.) Or any other types of animals (reptiles, birds, etc.)

  39. Romelia and dixie on November 18, 2022 at 12:19 pm
