Vet approved? Vets are not trained in nutrition. This would be a special Vet, trained after graduation.
    Potatoes?

  3. Nicole Amann on September 18, 2019 at 12:40 am

Dogs do NOT need carbs!! Especially not this huge amount of pasta!

  4. Louise King on September 18, 2019 at 12:41 am

You lost me with the white potatoes. THEN BOILING??? We know boiling releases the valuables in almost all food, first is vegetables. It seem to me the reason you have to add The powdered Nutrients is that the recipes are deficient. If you would have given us a backed version with some brown rice and X the white potatoes you might have had us fooled. OLD ROY is also AAFCO approved. So your brag about you stamp of approve holds little value to most of the thinking population. I am sticking with my own home made Dog Food. If it turns out it is deficient in a nutrient I can change that. I can’t give my dog food causing cancer and them fix it.

AAFCO also approved Purina Dog Chow, so…..yeah. That’s not saying much.

  6. Ronnie Underhill on September 18, 2019 at 12:43 am

What happened to the raw food diet, especially meats?

  7. TheLoriFiles on September 18, 2019 at 12:43 am

at 14:03 , the word " research " is mistyped. I wonder why no one else picked that up and fixed it. If the diet is meant to be the best for dogs, why on earth do we need a powder to add to it? It seems very commercialised to me.
Also.. Potato is poison to dogs.. how can they not know that!?

  8. Elizabeth Nguyen on September 18, 2019 at 12:47 am

Dogs cannot digest vegetable or fruits. It is very hard on their GI tract so its best to blend them. Also, dogs need organ meat. I don’t know why, but the recipe consist of a lot of carbohydrate which dogs do not need. It is bad for them.

  9. Tyrander165 on September 18, 2019 at 12:47 am

Studies have shown that vegan dogs are the healthiest dogs. Believe me, I’m a Veterinarian…and Author of the Long Life Diet for Dogs.

  10. Amy Tran on September 18, 2019 at 12:47 am

too many sweet potatoes, peas. They are not good for dogs. lot of fat in the red meats, they are bad or aging dogs

  11. Patti n pups on September 18, 2019 at 12:50 am

Great idea, however, PLEASE rethink the packaging. Watch the documentary, "Drowning in Plastic" it’s available on YouTube right now. It talks about "Sachet" packaging. Watch through the discover in the arctic.

  12. cdwwg on September 18, 2019 at 12:51 am

AAFCO is completely corrupt and allows the use of pure toxicity with no benefits in dog products. I work in the industry and have done countless hours of research to know this.

NEVER, EVER, EVER GO BY ANYTHING AAFCO SUGGESTS. DO YOUR OWN RESEARCH FROM RELIABLE SOURCES. THESE KINDS OF STUPID VIDEOS CAN KILL YOUR DOG.

  20. Samanda on September 18, 2019 at 12:57 am

Your goal would be met even more if you provided the recipe including the amount and types of added nutrients as opposed to adding your ‘nutrient blend’. Some people would still buy your blend for convenience, just like they buy seasoning blends in the store.

Helping people to have the ability to further self reliance would make you a more trusted company. When I see ‘proprietary blend’ on any label, it automatically creates distrust for me. I don’t see that as an attempt to help people, I see that as an attempt to make money and I see fear that your customer might come more educated than you like.

  21. Shaylas Life on September 18, 2019 at 12:59 am

That looks good enough for me to eat so it should be good for the dog!

  22. obvi•US on September 18, 2019 at 1:00 am

But humans DON’T have to use supplements… (and since when do you trust the FDA and the USDA to have your best interest as a priority?)

  23. Fox__Queen on September 18, 2019 at 1:02 am

Just the title made me suspicious, and looking at the comments confirmed what I thought.

  24. Bill B on September 18, 2019 at 1:03 am

Cooking food for animals that have a digestion system to eat raw food. Complete with enzymes that consume foods that arent what you would eat.
Cooking the nutrition out of food and making sure it is "clean" for a animal that is a scavenger in the wild is ridiculous.

The dog doesnt know or care that you cooked it either. Million years on this planwt and what the heck would they know, right?

  25. Dr. Jeff Kapp on September 18, 2019 at 1:03 am

I appreciate the sentiment and care, but dogs do not need and cannot digest grains, so why are you using rice, potatoes, etc? You are giving away that you don’t know much about a species appropriate diet.

  26. harmonee catcher on September 18, 2019 at 1:08 am

YES … because the ancestors of our dogs cooked their food before eating!
BARF ( biologically appropriate raw food) diet is the healthiest most natural way to feed dogs and cats! Good grief … do some research here people!
    Don’t buy into cooked food!

  27. cbeck611 on September 18, 2019 at 1:09 am

There is a new fda warning on Lugemes and potatoes for dogs

  28. Rene Strantz on September 18, 2019 at 1:10 am

They lost me at potato. Extensive research proved to me that potatoes are not good for dogs. Sweet potatoes are good but not regular. I came here looking for a healthy meal for my dogs especially the one who has perianal fistula and that is one of the main foods they say to avoid is potatoes. I’ll stick with the other info that I’ve researched so far.

Although, I’ll play Devil’s Advocate, the title for the company does say ‘veterinary developed’ not holistic, raw or herbal. I love our regular vet but even he has admitted that he doesn’t really know anything about herbal healing for pets. It’s just not their forte’.

  46. Scott Rose on September 18, 2019 at 1:32 am

My vet just told me that feeding a dog liver is not a good idea. The liver is the bodies toxin filter she explained and contains natural toxins from the source animal. Anyone have thoughts on this?

  47. Kate Zenna on September 18, 2019 at 1:32 am

If you find your dogs end up getting skin issues from this food take them off it for a few weeks. Our dogs developed major yeast issues and had hair on their face fall out. Waaaay too much sweet potato in the beef recipe. Also, the issue with not making food yourself is that you can’t control that actual quality of the beef. I was never able to get certainty from the Just Food for Dogs people regarding hormones etc in the food. Certainly the veggies are not organic so pesticides are also an influence.

  48. Laura Humphries on September 18, 2019 at 1:34 am

I love the idea… But $20 is way too much for a recipe and some nutrient powder. I might pay $8

  49. Lana Ebarb on September 18, 2019 at 1:34 am
