The surprising effects of pregnancy

Discover how pregnancy changes every organ in the body— from the heart, to the brain and kidneys— and what we still don’t know about it.

Muscles and joints shift and jostle. The heart’s pounding rhythm speeds up. Blood roars through arteries and veins. Over the course of a pregnancy, every organ in the body changes. Initiated by a range of hormones, these changes begin as soon as a pregnancy begins. Explore what we know— and don’t know— about pregnancy’s effects on the body and brain.

  2. That’s why is a very personal decision to have children or not. And that’s also why even if your partner has power of decision, it has to be finally decided for the women. Finally the truth!!!!! Pregnancy is a big deal!

  3. Being pregnant is not easy.. The nausea, the dizziness, tiredness in the first trimester when you can barely eat anything. I had abs and suddenly i saw they started to disappear, losing your perfect hourglass body, feeling shortness of breath, insomnia, – yes It’s not easy. I spent hours in bathroom due to constipation, and not to mention heartburn, you might get pimples..You wont recognize yourself in the mirror, pimples in face, perfect bodyshape disappeared, feet swollen, cant wear Your favourite jeans. It’s not easy..But at the end when the baby kicks and responds to your touch and voice every pain disappears.

  4. I am currently 9 months pregnant, it’s my first pregnancy and to be honest before this I never knew about everything one goes through when pregnant. It i definitely not as easy as it seems , I have had quite a difficult pregnancy from the very beginning so I have a new found respect for mom’s.
