I have a Siberian malamute as a service dog. Definitely not part of the Fab 4. They are stubborn, smart, energetic, and independent. It takes either a really determined trainer or a trainer who knows what they are doing. You said something about the boundless energy of Collies that reminded me of a time that I took Dexter for a 17 mile mushing trip and a few hours after he was ready to run some more.

The Fab four I definitely recommend over other breeds unless you like me and ended up bonding with a different breed that has the temperament.

It’s important for folks to remember that when people generally talk about the Fab 4 for service dog work, it’s the Rough or Smooth Collie, not the Border Collie. The Rough/Smooth Collie is quite significantly more chill than the average Border Collie.
