Thank you this is really informational. I googled some easy to care for pets and mice and budgie birds were on the top of the list and i was like… uh well birds should not be on that list so im a bit skeptical of mice. Im glad i could find a video with some more detail. Definitely not an easy to care for pet. Regardless, I still will be getting two little girls, i can’t wait to give them all the love and toys they deserve 🙂

so… I had somebody tell me that I couldn’t put a mouse in a critter trail cage… I found a critter trail cage that’s more than 200 square inches… so I was wondering if thats true, and why.

I have a mouse in my house and he seems to be contained in just one room. The adjacent room is the kitchen and there is like a one foot step up to the kitchen floor and I assume that is to high for him/her to get up to. I’ve been leaving various types of food for the mouse because I don’t want it to starve to death but I am worried on what to do. I cat that I have let in the house (I guess now he is my cat) stays here a lot and he is responsible for bringing the mouse in the house. I realize how silly all this sounds and it is quite silly but also a serious matter. After watching several videos on various mouse traps I realized I don’t have it in me to kill the poor thing. I also hear people talking about mice carrying diseases so I’m just really not sure what I should do. Any suggestions?

I feel like it would be better for the environment to use a biodegradable bag for cleaning rather than a plastic bag 🙂

can you make a hideout or hideouts with popsicle sticks and hot glue???

  10. Lion on December 22, 2019 at 9:08 am

so my friend was at petco and saw that mice were 5$ each. She decided to just get one right then. So she bought the mouse, food, and brought it home. She put it in a cage that was less than 60 square inches, nothing in there but shredded paper and caps for food and water. She brought it to my house to show me, and then I took out a bin that was 350 square inches ( it had lots of ventilation though) and I put in bedding, a shoebox with holes to hide in, and more, such as toys I had from my hamster. When she left, she wouldn’t take the bin – even though I dont even use it. She put him back in the tiny tank and is planning to bring him with her on a trip – and leave him in the car the whole time, even overnight. I tried to convince her to take better care even though it was 5$ but it didn’t work. I told her that they live like 1 or 2 years, and she said she dosen’t know if she will be able to keep him for a year. She was already talking about how I could keep him at the end of the summer, and she just bought it yesterday! it shows how bad impulse buying animals can be.

I got a 40 gallon breeder tank with 4 female mice I thought it was only 126inch of width x length not 200 do I give a mouse back? Or keep all 4? I dont want a bigger cage but they will have a lotta ways to climb I bought a lot of toys including I’m going to be making some out of popsicle sticks and hot glue but I gotta find a safe coat for water resistance on the wood

would it be possible to house one male mouse in a 10 gallon?

  19. ゆりlily on December 22, 2019 at 9:24 am

My poor mouse, Kokichi, is stuck in one of those ridiculously tiny plastic cages you can buy from Pet Smart for only 20 or so dollars and my mother refuses to buy/upgrade his cage and help me provide the proper environment for my mouse (I’m only 13 otherwise I’d do so myself.) It makes me horribly sad to see so many cases like this and how common it is.

Today my 2 year old Robo darf hamster sadly passed away, and I was very distraught and cried quite a bit (Don’t judge meh) and my mom brought me to the pet store to get a new hamster, but I ended up adopting a mouse instead! He is in a 70 gallon tank with a mesh top, and we bought him some nice chews, new hides, and feed. I will just need to get him some hanging toys. Thanks for the video!

Currently have a syrian hamster (Boss <3) and a gerbil (nibbles; he is a rescue and has a long history of violence with other gerbils, which is why he’s alone) it’s my sixteenth soon, hoping to save money and get mice in the summer after exams.. have a prevue, trixie wheel, tons of toys and even a sand dish sitting in my amazon basket waiting! (yes, I’m getting one male and he’s having a prevue. is that even a question? XD)

Hello. I know that you may not answer but my mouse keeps biting her bars. I have two and a 400 square inch cage. My room is well ventilated and it is quiet. Idk is this normal

  39. Art Kett on December 22, 2019 at 9:46 am

The thing about male mice is they do need company, it’s suggested for male mice that if you get two males make sure they’re litter mates and have never been separated, and of course give them plenty of space and such, or get them neutered and just get him female companions. It’s honestly very tragic that male mice have to be alone when they are also social just like females.

My mouse didn’t use that type of wheel so I got her a type of wheel that they use at pet stores for mice and she ran all night long on it was weird but oh well I was just saying what my mouse would like to use as a wheel cuz maybe your mouse or mice would like to use them too!
